Ch. 11 Response

Audio
A traditional technology that I think would be good to use in a classroom would be a cassette tape. They would allow students to listen someone read a book to them. Some students may learn better by listening to the story instead of reading it. Students could also take notes to pay attention and not lose focus.
An emerging technology that could be used in the classroom is the CD. It's a lot like the cassette tape but it can hold much more information. A teacher could put more than just one book on a tape and they could also be used for music or to show a video in the class.

Visual
A traditional technology that I think would be good to use in the classroom is the whiteboard. Many students could come up at once and work on a math problem or it could be used for notes or other ideas or discussions that could come up.
An emerging technology that I think would be good to use in the classroom is the digital projector. This would allow a teacher to show students videos, power points, or anything else on their computer. It allows everyone in the class to see it and get involved in class.

Ch. 6 Response

After reading chapter 6, I have came to the conclusion that I would rather have more technology in my classroom than less. I understand technology can be undependable, but I believe the benefits far outweigh the consequences. One technology I would like to have in my classroom would be the e-books. They would allow students to have all their books in one place which would make it much easier for them to have all the right textbooks for homework. It would also allow the books to be used for a longer time because the textbooks wouldn't be shoved in a backpack therefore they could last longer and not be replaced after only a few years. Also, using technology in the classroom would begin to prepare students for their future. Technology is constantly changing and the sooner they start using it on a daily basis, the easier it'll come to them. It will allow them to understand the newer technology as well because most technology simply builds off the other.
